2 cups water
2 cups sugar
Grapefruit, sliced 1/4-inch thick
Navel Orange, sliced 1/4-inch thick
Lemon, sliced 1/4-inch thick
Lime, sliced 1/4-inch thick
Directions

1. MAKE SIMPLE SYRUP: In a medium skillet, combine the water and sugar. Bring to a simmer, making sure the sugar is completely dissolved.

2. SIMMER IN SYRUP: Turn the heat to medium-low. Add all of the sliced citrus. Simmer for 45 minutes or until rinds are slightly translucent. Gently swirl the citrus every 15 minutes to make sure they are evenly coated with simple syrup.

3. COOL AND LET DRY: Turn off the heat. Transfer the citrus slices to a cooling rack set over a large baking sheet. Let dry for 1 hour before using.

4. USE OR STORE: Use immediately, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
